Me and my wife just moved to Sacramento and found this gem. The gym is not big but perfect, haven’t had a chance to use the pool but can’t wait. I got a call from the regional manager Raysha who asked how my move in experience was, if there was anything we needed or anything they could improve on. she even gave me a great place to take my wife for valentine’s day. I’ve been living here for almost 9months now and have no complaints other than the appliances falling apart which has been addressed. Brianna and Marquis are professionals. They are so knowledgeable, attentive to the needs of tenants, and very nice. Since I inquired, Brianna has walked me through the whole process while I was still on the East Coast. She sent me photos of available units as I never got to see the unit before I moved in. She took the time and had to go back multiple times for me which I’m so thankful for. When she’s not around, Marquis doesn’t hesitate to jump in to assist. The maintenance guys are also very helpful and nice. I love chatting with them, they’re very personable. They know what they’re doing and I never had to wait more than a day or 2 to get anything fixed or get my issues addressed. If it doesn’t get fixed in the same day, they’ll stop by and give me an update. I really appreciate that. Overall, they do a great job at maintaining the property and keeping it clean. When the storms hit, the panels in my patio as well as my neighbors were damaged and it didn’t take them very long to attend to it, which I appreciate. The online portal to submit a work order and pay monthly is also very easy to navigate. I especially love the gym door that was installed last year. When there was an issue with my fob, Marquis addressed it immediately. Only other issue which I know they can’t control is having tenants allow young children use the facility after hours. I’m for kids working out and staying active but it’s very unsafe for them to be in there playing with the equipments. The Charleston also in such a great location, close to every essential store & shopping centers. I wouldn’t walk around the block but the location is very convenient and it would be very hard to let go of this apartment when the time comes.

Diamond in the rough! You only need to check the 3 other complexes at the intersection to see the difference. Top 2 complaints at EVERY apartment complex: parking and loud neighbors. Still not enough parking, but both my upstairs and next door neighbors have both had newborns since moving in, and I haven't heard their babies! I have lived here for over 2 years now, and through 2 different management companies (apparently the current was the 3rd in 2 years) - and I can confidently state that this property has been improving. Alexis and Bree in the office are great (I've seen firsthand their patience and professionalism with the craziness that comes at them), and Tony and Tory (maintenance) are always friendly and helpful. The lights are finally all on, and the gates now stay closed, which help the property to be safer and cleaner. The pool area was refurbished and re-opened last year with bbqs and a grassy area replacing an old tennis court. The clubhouse (*gym* + office) were remodeled, improved, and re-opened last year too. Close to I-80, and next to a shopping center with a grocery store, I'd still say one of my favorite things is having a washer and dryer in my unit. Dishwasher is a close 2nd, as I didn't have one at my last place.

I have been here at The Charleston for 20months now. I had a sudden experience of the water heater breaking down in my apartment, no hot water early Saturday morning. I emailed the Manager Alexis right away for help. Before 9am Tory of Maintenance stopped by thinking maybe the pilot just needed to be lit but came across a problem. Within minutes he returned to let me know a call was placed to have someone come by to look at it. Before the end of the day a new water heater was installed. I must say I am soooooo happy living here at The Charleston. Alexis and her Maintenance Guys Tory and Tony take great care and pride in keeping the residents here feel comfortable and safe. The Charleston, you are AWESOME!!!

Been a resident here for almost two years and I can say I enjoy living here . Alexis and the Maintenance staff are wonderful ( tony and his partner ( I forgot his name :-()are excellent at keeping the grounds clean. They really take pride in keeping the apartments nice . Maintenance orders are done fast and efficiently . The surrounding area is a bit sketchy looking but overall inside the apartments are great . Alexis is very understanding and caring and she worked with me through a tough time due to covid 19. The apartments have full size washers and dryers which is rare and the lay out of the apartments are good . Shout out to you guys for doing a great job .

This place is a diamond in the rough. Mainly thanks to the staff. I live in one of the non-renovated units but that doesn't bother me too much. Fridge works, stoves are gas (which is super rare), dish washer works, and there is laundry in unit. The leasing office is super sweet, they will work with you if you work with them. They're easy to negotiate with. Maintenance is always busy, but they will make time for you. The staff is thankfully a happy crew. The staff before them, was pretty sour and left A LOT unrepaired. This is a decent place to live on a budget. Everything you need is close by and the residents are pretty much respectful. Lots of yummy smells floating around during dinner.

I've been living here since 2016 of May, so now approximately 1 full year. (Review is as of May 01, 2017) Keep in mind the older reviews were previous management. I can see how that was an issue before, I can guarantee the new management is fantastic and very easy to approach. They're extremely friendly and have treated myself, my other tenant, and everyone else I've seen, well and courteously. They have great professionalism and every single staff member has never failed to answer any questions I've had, no matter how thorough I required the answer to be. The apartments themselves are great. I live towards the front of the complex, and even noise from here isn't bad at all. I can't speak for downstairs units since I'm in an upstairs unit, but the noises from other tenants are very minimal, and only audible if they're screaming in the next room over and you're close to the wall. (Obvious) Since I came in while the management was still relatively new, they have been visibly working hard to make the complex better than it ever has. They have been mass-remodeling units like crazy, re-painted the entire complex, re-roofing and are enforcing the necessary rules (I mean this in the best way. It's terrible living in an area where everyone breaks rules such as parking.) Every appliance is in tip-top shape, all stainless-steel if I'm not mistaken. All units COME WITH LAUNDRY UNITS, which is an absolute plus, especially considering the unit price. What's even better, they provide electricity through SMUD; your electricity rate can't get any better than that. Definitely give this place a chance. It's definitely a hidden gem, especially in the surrounding area it can be deceptive. That is literally the only downside I can think of; but if you're not interested in the immediate area, and want a great living space, and immediate access to almost every major high way in the Sacramento region (I can't even begin to explain the convenience of that.) then this place is definitely for you. I was considering moving after my lease was ending (i.e. a single family home for rent), but I couldn't find any place in the area that was better for the price.

Let me start off by saying I have lived here for a number of years. Since I have moved in I have had no issues with any of my neighbors or the staff. It has been my experience that this has been a nice quiet place to live. At the beginning of July, there was a management switch. Now I’m not sure why that happened, but in the time the new team has been here many things have been corrected around the property that the previous management neglected. Overall I have enjoyed my stay at The Charleston and I hope to continue to be a resident here! BTW..the renovated units here look AMAZING!!
